Worcester Raiders eye up easter double as busy bank holiday weekend looms.
Raiders face two games in three days, starting with a home match against Fairford Town today, followed by an away trip to Pershore on Easter Monday.
One final chance to put pressure on league leaders Silmbridge and cement ourselves in the top 5.
Last week, we picked up four points, starting with a superb 3-1 away win at Cinderford. Jake Collins and Prince Henry were on the scoresheet, while Bailey Fuller provided three assists.
We then drew 1-1 with Mangotsfield, where Captain Jordan Murphy rescued a point in the 94th minute with a confident, powerful penalty.
A game of two penalties where the away side scored their only shot on target and sat back throughout.
A disappointing result, but Raiders showed fight and determination to keep going at the Mangotsfield goal and get something out of the game.
Today, we begin with a tough home clash against Fairford, a side that will be desperate to win if they are going to make the playoffs at the final stages.
They currently sit in 7th place, just four points behind 5th-place Cirencester.
The two sides couldn't be split earlier in the season, as the game ended in a 0-0 draw, giving Raiders a chance to take four points off Fairford and end their unbeaten run of six games.
