Raiders look for back-to-back home victories as County rivals Hereford Pegasus visit Worcester.

Last week, Raiders got a terrific result against high-flying Roman Glass, beating them 3-2, the same score earlier on in the season in the Marsh Challenge Cup.

Raiders got off to a fast start when Lincoln Hunt tapped in a rebounded Prince Henry shot after just 3 minutes. Loanee Lincoln has made a huge impact since joining from Walsall, scoring 4 goals in 5 appearances for the Raiders. Today, his loan has been extended a further two months following the original 1-month agreement.

Soon after, the game had to be paused for George Baker, who came off injured and was replaced by Connor Jakeways.
Seven minutes later, Roman Glass equalised from a headed corner, a very poor goal to concede. Despite that, it didn't take long for Raiders to respond. Two minutes later, we restored the lead when Roman Glass failed to clear the ball from a Raders corner, and who else, but Prince Henry was there to slot it home.

The first half action didn't stop there as the Roman glass number 10 claimed a penalty when tangling with Ben Sanogo. The ref quickly waved away the appeal, leaving the Roman Glass players visibly frustrated. Just two minutes later, their number 10 vented his anger with a reckless challenge on Ben, earning a booking and forcing Ben to be replaced by Manny.

Roman Glass began the second half strongly and took control of the game. They shortly after capitalised on their domination and pulled it back to 2-2 with a great finish. However, Raiders did not back down as impact sub Adam Taylor fired Raiders back Infront from a wonderful hit from outside the box to win the game.

An impressive team performance as Raiders saw out the game well. Charlie Emery made some superb reaction saves at the end, and Jack Donnelly was rock solid throughout, well-deserved Man of the Match.

The only downside was the two bad injuries that we picked up. Manager Jordan Lewis said, “unfortunately neither George's nor Ben's injury are looking good, not 100% sure on the full extent just yet, but be a few weeks for both rather than a few days.”

“We have brought in a holding midfielder to replace Ben from Kidderminster – Arthur Squire. We have struggled for so long in that position, in my opinion, for someone natural until Ben came back in, we couldn't put ourselves in that position again, so Arthur has come in for a month there.”

A few lads are expected to return this week tho. “Bailey Fuller is back this week after a holiday and an injury he picked up at Bromsgrove. Natty Hewitt looks to be fully fit again, along with Jordan Murphy.”

Raiders now look forward to the County clash against Hereford, where preparations have been key. “We had a good session on Tuesday, lost Thursday due to the snowstorm, but not the worst thing for the lads to have a breather after the schedule.

A Raiders' 3 points would boost our chances of ending the day in the playoffs, putting pressure on Cirencester Town with our two games in hand.

Hereford have already suffered a 3-0 defeat against Raiders earlier in November, so we will be confident we can get the double over them at home.
