Raiders look to return to the playoff places as they take on Hallen in their final league game before Christmas.
Last week, the Raiders put in a superb performance away at Royal Wootton Town, comfortably winning 3-0, meaning we will advance to the quarter-finals of the UHL Challenge Cup.
Assistant Gaffer Stewart Watkins is proud of the lads for reaching the quarter-finals. He said, “A cup run is always good for everyone involved. Something different for the focus when it comes around.”
Bailey Fuller was the first on the scoresheet, making an excellent impact. He won a free kick after being brought down on the edge and then followed it up by whipping the free kick into the back of the net.
It was also the perfect day for debutant Lincoln Hunt, coming off the bench to assist Kiyan Baker-McKay for the second goal before rounding the day off with one of his own to make it 3-0.
The quarter-final affair is now set for the 14th of February, where Raiders will travel to Bristol to take on Mangotsfield United.
We now look ahead to our festive fixture against Hallen tomorrow, a side we beat 2-0 away from home back in September.
There will be a big boost for Raiders going into the game with the new signing of Prince Henry. Henry is a striker with bags of experience, previously playing for Bristol City, Bromsgrove Sporting, Worcester City, and most recently, Pershore Town.
Stewart gave his thoughts on the new signing, “I am excited by Prince. I coached him at u12s and it's nice to be working with him again. A super lad that can offer us good qualities.”
Raiders will take confidence from last week's comfortable cup victory into this game and look to get back to winning ways in the league.
Hallen are just outside the relegation zone on joint points with bottom so they will be desperate to take anything from the game.
