For the second year running Under 18 Manager Ben Lacroix see's three players promoted into the First Team. Goalkeeper Travis Reid, Midfielder Tom Price and Winger George Hadley all joined our U18 Floodlit side this summer as First Years and have caught the eye on First Team management with their performances.
We are delighted to have this pathway in place from youth to adult football and to see the pathway used successfully, promoting players through the teams and creating First Team players internally is really pleasing for us as a club.
Travis Reid and George Hadley are both included in the First Team squad for tomorrow nights home game at DOADC Stadium, where we host Woodford United.
Jordan Lewis - ' These lads are three real quality first year floodlit players that caught our eye early on in the season - timing's really important to their progress and we felt now is a good time to see more of them. Dylan Colley was a huge success last season and would no doubt be in our squad right now if he was still around. We want young lads to see the opportunity to progress with us and be trusted despite their age and i think we have proved this is true on many occasions now. With these lads stepping up, we also have U16s moving up to the Floodlit team and being given chances. Massive credit to all our youth coaches, i know how hard everyone is working in our ever growing junior section'
Ben Lacroix - 'Really proud to see the boys get rewarded for their efforts so far this season. It's a great opportunity for the lads to be integrated Into the first team to help with their development. To see this happen for the second year in a row makes my role very satisfying in helping develop players. Thanks to the Jord and coaching staff for showing faith in the U18s and the pathway.'
Congratulations to Ben, Jay, Liam and Matt for their work with our U18 Floodlit Team and continuously pushing player progression.
