Keeper Martinez joins Sixways project.

Worcester Raiders have snapped up former AFC Telford and Solihull goalkeeper Sheridan Martinez, with the talented shot-stopper set to make his debut against Studley at Sixways tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

Standing at 6ft 3”, Martinez, 28, was part of the Moors double-winning campaign of 2015, which saw the club win the National League North and the Birmingham Senior Cup.

“I’m really excited to have made the move to Sixways Stadium and be part of an exciting project,” Martinez told the club website.

“I’ve been impressed with the owners’ vision and I’m looking forward to helping the club achieve its ambitions.

“It will be great to pull on the gloves against Studley at Sixways tomorrow.”

Martinez, who also had stints with Hednesford, Barwell and Sporting Khalsa, joins former West Brom defender Aksum White in inking terms with the Sixways club.

Delighted to have got his man, Raiders Joint Manger Mark Owen said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sheridan to Sixways Stadium, and he will fit into the group nicely.

“He has an excellent professional attitude, and at 6ft 3”, he is a huge presence between the sticks in every sense of the word.”
