Jordan Cox signs for Worcester Raiders.

Worcester Raiders have completed the signing of former Aston Villa winger Jordan Cox, with the 22-year-old set to make his league debut away to Malmesbury Vics tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

The Pershore-born attacker signed professional forms with the Midland giants in 2016 and a year later, then manager Steve Bruce named him on the bench for their convincing 4-1 EFL Cup second-round triumph over Wigan Athletic.

Representing Villa at under-18 and under-23 level, Cox made 62 appearances and netted 11 times during Premier League Two and FA Youth Cup outings before being released in the summer of 2019.

“Jordan is a fantastic footballer and great young man, who our supporters will really enjoy watching,” said Worcester Raiders Joint Manager Mark Owen.

“He is another brilliant signing for the club, and I would like to thank Quent at Stourport for helping this to go through quickly.”

Delighted to have made the switch to Sixways, having had a stint with Droitwich Spa, Cox added: “I’m really excited to have joined Worcester Raiders, a club that has all the infrastructure in place to be successful.

“I’m looking forward to pulling on the Worcester shirt, enjoying my football and working hard for the team as we look to put ourselves in serious contention for promotion.”
