Sixways outfit in promotion conversation

Worcester Raiders Joint Manager Karl Gormley is relishing tonight's Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One clash at Bourton Rovers (kick-off 7.45pm),

Gormley's side drew 2-2 away to Milton United on Saturday, a result which keeps Raiders in the promotion hunt.

Raiders were 2-1 up at the break thanks to goals from Jordan Murphy and Kai Mahon after Milton had taken the lead. However, Milton grabbed an equaliser ten minutes from time to dampen Raiders' spirits.

"I thought our lads were outstanding at Milton," said Raiders chief Gormley.

"Credit to Milton - they kept going to the end. We were very disappointed after the game, but on reflection it could turn out to be a good point by the end of the season.

"We can't fault any of the players for their commitment - we just lacked that bit of quality. I was pleased with how our new signings did, Miller and Ricardo, who both had cracking debuts and we are thoroughly looking forward to the trip to Bourton."

Rovers currently sit at the foot of the table, having picked up ten points from 24 games played this season. Raiders ran out 6-1 winners when the two sides last met at Sixways back in September, with Joe Billingham smashing in two goals, while Isaac Cooper bagged a hat-trick.

Raiders' next home game is against Abingdon United this Saturday, with gates opening at 12 noon for the televised FA Cup fourth round clash between Kidderminster Harriers and West Ham United.
